LESSON: Small Business Leaders must take over the power of Washington, the IRS, and the Media, to finally recreate a proper merit equals rewards system in America. A great oxymoron = Unionize Small Business!
Quick Stats: 99% of businesses in America are Small Businesses. 46% of American workers work for Small Businesses. 44% of America’s GDP (Revenue) comes from Small Businesses. In the last 15 years, 55% of all net new jobs have come from Small Businesses.
Yet, where was Joe the Plumber, Susie the Electrician, and Oliver the Restauranter standing behind President Trump at his latest inauguration? I think I only saw Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Tim Cook, and Sam Altman. Ironically, all these huge corporations started as small businesses in someone’s garage or Mom’s basement. Now they rule political favor, tax incentives, and monopolistic regulatory relationships as gatekeepers and barriers to new up-and-comers hoping to compete and drive down costs for consumers.
Small Business demands are simple:
1) Stability: we can’t invest in machinery and buildings if a conservative administration sets up accelerated depreciation and then a liberal administration erases it at the next election.
2) Reduced Regulation: we can’t have government three (EPA) and four letter (USDA) agencies terrorizing business owners because they can. They need checks and balances and must be educated about economics, the industry, and job creation. Don’t kill the Golden Gooses which pay the taxes which then pay their government salaries. They need us to exist – we don’t need them.
a. Why does the IRS have a huge cash of semi-automatic shotguns, long-barrel rifles, semi-automatic AR 15s, submachine guns, and over 5 million rounds of ammunition in stockpiles?
3) Lower Taxes: You would think Reagan finally taught us that lower tax rates actually increase tax revenues for the country plus add tremendous growth to fix 900 other problems, but it seems we have no memories or just never understood in the first place. That’s why we have Mamdami and AOC stopping Amazon jobs in NYC and videoing Ken Griffin’s $250M NYC apartment.
4) Capital Allocation: Force the cronyism and corrupt politics out of the capital markets (see Pelosi stock portfolio performance) to allow proper money allocation to smaller companies which best utilize resources.
a. OpenAI reportedly wants to “give” 5% of its upcoming IPO to the government. That’s called “transparent fraud!”
5) Change Education: Revamp the entire disaster of our public education system to embrace capitalism, rugged individualism, and small government. Never again elect a President who says, “If you've got a business, you didn't build that.”
This week celebrate small businesses, frequent small businesses, and, better yet, start a small business. You can do it! Have a great week!
